Games animation department
The animation department creates the illusion of movement in characters and vehicles. As well as being good at art, animators understand anatomy and the rules of physics. They are like actors, knowing what expressions and movements make a character believable. Technical animators support the animation by developing the games engine to support ever more detailed animations. They also help the animators by taking on the more complex tasks, like rigging, which means creating a skeleton through which the movements can be created. Click on the roles to find out more.
