About
I have recently left my job after 2 1/2 years at ITV in advertisement sales to pursue my goal of a career in TV drama and film production. I am now looking for my first proper runners job. While at ITV I demonstrated many of the key skills to help me succeed as a runner, such as customer service when dealing with clients, confidentiality and integrity when seeing famous talent around the building and handling sensitive numbers, teamwork and work ethic to consistently hit tight daily deadlines. Also while at ITV I was proactive in gaining as much exposure to the production process, as a consequence I have a broad understanding of the how the production process works from development to distribution.
Before ITV I gained general office based skills as a researcher and legal clerk which I think would help me succeed specifically in a production office environment. I have also worked as a removal man and Barista at EAT where I gained experience of early starts and long 14 hour days being proactive and following instructions with humour and humility and I can make a decent brew too, all skills and experience that should help me succeed as a floor runner.
Since leaving work I have shown initiative by attending a number of courses including a 1 week course at the Production Guild "Preparing to work in Film and TV" where I received introductory runners training which covered roles and responsibilities, set etiquette, how to read a call sheet and schedule, industry jargon and how to use a radio, after this course I really feel prepared for my first job on set.
