About
Monika has over ten years industry experience in project development, casting, location scouting as well as producing shorts and features.
Most recently, she has produced a supernatural thriller short LOST ONES, written and directed by Andrew McVicar (COMPULSION), and an interactive feature length project HOUSE HACK (dir. Stephanie Zari), which was shot on location in Estonia and was released on streaming app Whatifi in 2021. She has also joined the producing team on the micro-budget directorial debut feature from Stephanie Zari, ZEBRA GIRL, having co-produced Zari’s short BEING KEEGAN, starring Stephen Graham.
Prior to that she worked for the award winning production company THIRD FILMS. Her credits with Third include Associate Producer on Duane Hopkins’ short film TWELFTH MAN, Assistant Producer/Additional Casting on LIGHT YEARS written and directed by BAFTA-winning Esther May Campbell, and Assistant Producer/Additional Casting on BYPASS, directed by Duane Hopkins.
Monika also production-managed shorts and features including Hope Dickson Leach’s iFeature THE LEVELLING for Wellington Films, and worked for Random Acts and BFI Film Academy, where she scouted emerging filmmaking talent, managed young artists’ development programmes and production of short experimental films for broadcast and the festival circuit.
She is currently in development on several documentary and drama projects under her company Friction Burn Pictures.
