About
Trained in traditional animation, I am determined graduate who is passionate about story telling. I have managed and worked within teams and enjoy working with with people. A background in fine art has provided me with the ability to explore animation from new angles and strengthen my understanding of how to communicate a compelling message to the viewer.
Writing, directing, animating and producing my graduation film introduced me to many aspects of film-making, from creating a tight story to hiring and working with actors and composers. I developed cinematography, set and puppet building, editing and organisational skills. The film involved many challenges including merging stop motion and live action which I enjoyed finding creative solutions for. I have also been commissioned by two companies to make short films/ adverts.
For the children's society I directed and animated a one minute short film which was used to advertise and advocate for the charity online. I was provided with a clip of a young person describing how they had been helped by the charity and created a paint on glass animation to support their story.
As a producer and animator for the short film Indian Opinion I gained many skills in organising and planning how to create a short film. We were provided with music by Phillip Glass in order to advertise their upcoming opera Satyagraha. As well as animating I was involved with assisting the director in strategy, technique and setting clear goals for the team.
