The Northern Ireland High-end TV Working Group chaired by Louise Gallagher of Gallagher Films has selected three training companies to deliver practical learning, allowing a wide range of working adults to develop the skills needed to move into jobs in TV drama in Northern Ireland.
The transfer training programmes will increase capacity in production accountancy, junior production office roles, and in standby props. Each programme will offer subsidised work placements funded by the ScreenSkills High-End TV fund.
Lisburn’s Louise Morrison of Feather and Fortune will deliver the production accountancy programme early in 2023 and wants to hear from people with experience in book-keeping, financial management and accountancy who may be seeking new professional challenges. Shane Bunting and Sarah Speers, the team at Stag’s Head Props in Belfast will run the standby props programme for good communicators with backgrounds in art, design or engineering who will relish hands-on work supporting actors on set. Matt Gallagher and Imogen Gay will deliver the Call Sheet’s acclaimed production coordinator training, working remotely with great organisers in Northern Ireland who may have experience in admin roles in education, healthcare, logistics, tourism—or running a home and family.
