My name is Sima Pollitt. I have degree in film and television and worked on films as a continuity supervisor for many years. Then -because of family commitment- I had to stop working. I lived in Manchester from 1977 and came to London in 2010 and started to work in  films as an extra. In 2016 I have obtained my chaperone license and I am working in the film and TV productions.

Have you benefited from any ScreenSkills support so far?

I had to renew my chaperone license in April 2021 and did the required courses by ScreenSkills and I am waiting to re-doing the NSPCC course.

What effect has this support had on your career so far?

In order to get my chaperone license I needed to finish the health and safety and child protection course witch I did with ScreenSkills. otherwise I wouldn't be able to obtain my license.

What is the most remarkable moment or achievement of your career so far?

I always loved to be behind the camera and watch the progress of the film. The first time I was there as a chaperone after so many years was a big achievement for me.

If you could give advice to someone interested in pursuing your job role or a career in the screen industries more generally, what would you say?

My advice for any one who loves to work in the film and TV industry is to do training in any area you like to work in and start from beginning regardless of your age.
