Chaired by writer Myles McLeod, this event is an opportunity to hear from a range of professionals involved in the making of an animated series for children on how they work with writers and what they need from a writer. The panel will include a storyboard artist, director, producer and broadcast commissioner.

Myles McLeod has been writing for TV since 2006. He has over a hundred TV credits including shows Hey Duggee, Octonauts and Clangers. He has also developed shows for TV including Noddy Toyland Detective, Circle Square and Percy’s Tiger Tales. Myles is one half of The Brothers McLeod known for their BAFTA Film Award-nominated short films. He is a children’s poet and author of the Knight Sir Louis books published by Guppy Books. In addition to writing, Myles is also a voice actor with credits from Disney, the Royal Shakespeare Company and Nickelodeon.

Hannah Lee Miller is the current producer of children’s television series Peppa Pig

She has previously worked in numerous production roles on other children’s television shows including, Chuggington, Hey Duggee, Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom and is currently developing a new children’s series called Albert’s Islands. She graduated from the National Film Television School in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Animation Direction.

As VP of Animation Production and Development, Chris Rose heads up the internal and external animation development and production teams for Nickelodeon International. In addition to identifying and developing new IP for Nick Toons, Nickelodeon, and Nick Jr, Rose works across Nick International’s original animated content production slate and manages the international component of the animated shorts program. Rose previously ran the development and production arm of London’s Beano Studios (Dennis and Gnasher: Unleashed, So Beano!) and served as TV Commissioning Editor for ABC ME and ABC KIDS, ABC Australia’s children’s channels. Other roles include VP of Programming and Development at HIT Entertainment and Content and Acquisitions Manager for CBeebies. His kids’ TV credits include The Deep, Little Lunch, and Mike the Knight.

Evgenia Golubeva is an award-winning director and screenwriter. She has written for Disney, Nick Jr and the BBC. She directs children’s TV shows with teams in the UK, Portugal and Russia. Her animated short films for children have received a number of awards at film festivals. Evgenia develops her own IP for children’s TV and books. One of her TV shows, The Question Club, was acquired by The Riki Group and is currently in production. 

Catherine Salkeld is a storyboard artist with over 6 years’ experience working on children’s and preschool shows such as Miffy and Friends, Go Jetters, Dennis Unleashed and It's Pony! and for clients such as the BBC, Milkshake and Nickelodeon. Cat has recently finished up boarding on a preschool feature. When she isn’t storyboarding, reading a new script or wishing she had more coffee she can be found working on her personal work.
