Virtual pre-production and plan V
Applications for this course are closed.
Talking Point presents this course as part of the ongoing Industry Sessions, Demystifying Virtual Production and Pre-visualisation in Film.
Virtual production has quickly become an established part of the feature film production process. This session will provide an opportunity to see how it is implemented, the possibilities it creates and how it works effectively hand in hand with the traditional production processes.
Who it's for
Heads of Department will gain insight into how this work is evolving. They will be trained in the processes that can help them embrace virtual production on their shows and how a fully collaborative approach can be achieved.
What it covers
Talking Point collaborates with creative studio, Painting Practice, who has been working on a new venture called Plan V. This is a virtual studio platform which allows all production staff to remotely explore 3D environments throughout prep and principal photography.
It allows users to experiment with camera lenses, animations, lighting, props and set decoration in a completely immersive manner. Plan V can improve the design process between script writing and set building which aids the creative process in a more financially effective manner.
During this course, participants will be shown how this platform is being used in production. There will be a demonstration of some of the new technology and practitioners working across all physical and post production grades can ask questions.
