In this session, we look at the role of floor manager and 1st assistant director with Marc Baker. 

So you want to be... is a strand of online sessions which focuses on specific roles within TV. You will get the chance to go behind a job title and get the inside track, as told by the people who know these jobs inside out.

If you’ve ever wondered what a particular role actually involves and what it will take to get there as you look to progress in your career - or you are new to the industry and hoping to get some great insider tips to start your career - this could be the masterclass for you.

The speakers will take us through the highs and lows of a specific role, as well as provide top tips and advice about how to carry out the job successfully and how to get that particular role in the first place. This is followed by audience Q&A where you have the chance to ask the experts.

Speaker

Marc Baker is an accomplished floor manager with an extensive career in the television industry. For more than 20 years, he has worked on a wide range of entertainment programmes, live events and awards shows, including The X Factor, The Masked Singer, Top Gear and Royal Variety Performance. 

Marc’s work has also taken him across the Atlantic on shows including The Oscars, Primetime Emmy Awards and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.
