How is technology transforming the world of unscripted television?

In this session, execuctive producer Tom Hutchings, producer/director Michael Perry and Paul Shepherd from LiveU talk through the next generation of live broadcasting and the technologies now used in everything from sport and news gathering to factual entertainment and beyond.

Speakers

Tom Hutchings is an executive producer at Shine TV. He oversees Celebrity Hunted and for the past two years has developed ideas for the BBC and Comic Relief which saw Kilimanjaro: The Bigger Red Nose Climb and The Heat Is On: Sport Relief air as their campaign headline documentaries in 2019 and 2020.

Michael Perry is a freelance producer / director who worked on Kilimanjaro: The Bigger Red Nose Climb and The Heat is On: Sport Relief. Over the last 5 years he has worked on some of Shine TV’s biggest productions including The Heist, Hunted and The Island With Bear Grylls. He was also part of the team for series one of BBC2’s Race Across the World.

Paul Shepherd is part of the LiveU team, acting as their regional sales manager.
