BAFTA Albert training with Katy Murdoch
Dates:
Tues 2 February 1 - 2pm
Wed 3 February 1 - 2pm
Thurs 4 February 1 - 2pm
This is a 3 day online course, you must attend all three sessions to complete the course.
BAFTA’s Albert is an industry consortium that is leading a charge against climate change, bringing the screen industries together to tackle their environmental impact and to inspire audiences to act for a sustainable future.
This course with Katy Murdoch will focus on a different topic each day: climate science, sustainable production and climate content.
This training is for anyone working in unscripted production and is especially helpful for people who want to know more about Albert certification.
As there are only a limited number of places, tickets will be allocated via a ballot system to give all those interested a fair chance to secure a place.
Speaker
In 2014 Katy Murdoch had a huge career pivot and undertook an MSc in Carbon Management at The University of Edinburgh. Katy now works as a freelance sustainability consultant, influencing businesses to place ambitious sustainability strategies into the core of their operations. A lot of her work is with film and tv companies, festival and event organisers and arts organisations and she considers awareness raising a huge opportunity for impact within these sectors.
Prior to changing career paths, Katy worked in TV production, managing large documentary shoots. She understands that influence starts with listening and relationship building. Used to collaborating across her different careers, she thinks partnerships and networks are central to the future of work.
This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Channel 5.
It is part of a ScreenSkills programme to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.
This session will take place online via Zoom. Click ‘apply for ticket’ and follow the instructions to apply for your place: you must login or register before you are able to complete your application.
