About
Hello! My name is Amelia Calvert, I am a media makeup and hair artist and absolutely love the excitement of the film and television industry, and would love to be a part of it in the future!
Most recently, I have been working for Opera North at the Grand Theatre in Leeds and in parts of the U.K. where my role entailed applying, and removing the chorus members wigs, and completing the quick changes at the side of the stage during the show, however in between all of that I was lucky enough to complete some work experience down at the Warner Bros studios in Leavesden, on one of their upcoming productions! I had the most amazing time learning, observing and getting involved with the general smooth running of the chaotic day, and it was a fabulous introduction to the industry - even the 4.30am starts! I really feel like i began to learn the roles and responsibilites of a makeup trainee on a big budget production, and it made me incredibly excited for the future -I would just love the opportunity to be involved in more projects in the future, no matter how big or small.
My relevant experience and qualifications is listed in more detail on my CV, but I have began to explore a great variety of the industry, including learning hair knotting for postiche, completing a basic womens hairdressing qualification, working as the makeup designer with a local film school on numerous productions, and creating the makeup looks for a hairdresser in Wella competitions at Regional, National, and International level. I would love to hear about any opportunities in the film industry, and feel lucky to be involved in projects as exciting as the ones I have already been on.
I hold a full U.K. passport and clean driving license, and have my own transport. I am willing to travel.
