I've made and edited short films in various genres, with a particular focus on documentary - which I feel experience in drama has added to my skills in. This has given me perspective on the filmmaking process through experience in every role from scripting to camera. Some of my films are on my Vimeo page. Being recruited as an editor has given me experience in many popular software programmes, including Premiere, Lightworks & Avid.
My education in philosophy & film has made me a logical, critical thinker, which I have used for planning and thinking through ideas for making films - as well as building 'arguments' in documentary form. I enjoy questioning the possibilities of film, and using it to see the bigger picture.
I've built up my interpersonal skills, creative thinking and problem solving while working with people who have learning disabilities and who have English as a second language. This work also made me self-driven as I had to set my own hours and work to deadlines. It required me to be highly sociably aware and emotionally intelligent, which I use in my films work to create pacing and story development.
I love documentary to be a collaborative experience with a subject. I built on my self-taught skills in the Drama Editing Short Course I took in 2019 at NFTS Scotland, where I learnt from accomplished editors. I found them
