About
I’m an award-winning director working in both film and television. I began my career in film editing, before directing documentary, then fiction and now high-end drama. I was awarded a BAFTA, the Prix Danube Jury Prize and nomintaions for an Emmy and Royal Television Award plus several further awards and additional nominations for the serial and TV Film Pig Heart Boy. In addition, I won a full RTS Award and a BMA medal for previous productions. After a short career break, I began directing short films which have won many International Awards including Best International Short at Galway Film Fleadh, San Jose, Oxford and overall Best Short at WImbledon, The IMDB Annual prize for a best short in catagory, a prize in Cannes Short FIlm Corner and Best Director. This has opened opportunities to direct features as well as high-end drama. I’m now developing several features films as well as a television series. I recently directed the season 8 finale of Call the Midwife and am now in post with eps 1 and 2 of Season 9.
I’m represented by Olivia Grey at Independent Talent Group. More information and examples of my work can be found at www.katecheeseman.com.
