About
Emma is an actor/writer. She is a BBC New Creative 2020, member of the Soho Theatre Writer's Lab 2017-18 and Mrs C's Collective.
She is writer/director/actor in her BBC New Creatives Short Jigging about female regional homelessness. She is in pre-production for her World War Two short L'heure bleue with Peter Naylor. She will play French Resistance fighter Ida in the film, shot in the Norfolk coast.
She trained at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, Norton Centre for the Arts, Kentucky and National Youth Theatre.
Screen Credits as an an actor/writer: 'The Cromer Special' directed by Alex Shipman (BFI Academy). Selected for Cinemagic Belfast Young Filmmaker Award 2020 & London-Worldwide Comedy Short Film Fest 2020. Other screen credits as an actor include work for Amazon, NFTS, London Film School, Met Film School, Falmouth TV, NUA, Immersive Studios and more.
Stage credits: 'Aamira & Gad' (Vaults Festival, Bee in my Beanie Theatre Co.), Off West End Award Nominated 'Holding the Man' with Big Boots Theatre at the Jack Studio Theatre (****The Stage), 'Mengele' (Oxo Nou Theatre, Crete, Theatre 503, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Soho Playhouse, New York), winning the Fringe Encore Award, the one woman show 'Shell Shock' (Soho Playhouse, New York).
Her short plays include 'The Cromer Special' (Arts Theatre), 'Flight to Neptune' (Southwark Playhouse, Pleasance), 'After Care' (The Space), 'A Tune of Two Muses' (Arcola, Pleasance and Norwich Arts Centre), 'Si Vuelves Tu' (Old Red Lion, Lion & Unicorn), 'Lost Girl Lost Boy' (Norwich Arts Centre) and 'Spines' (Symposium Festival).
Shortlisted for: Writer in Residence at Theatr Clwyd, Tony Craze Award (Soho Theatre), ETPEP Award (Finborough Theatre), Bread & Roses Playwriting Award and Black Horse Award.
