About

Neil Chordia is an independent film producer and Head of Scripted at ie: entertainment.

In 2008 he co-founded the film production company Eclipse Films, which was later incorporated into the Eclipse Global Entertainment group of which he was also a founding partner and director. While at Eclipse, Chordia developed a slate of feature films and produced Michael Caton-Jones’s URBAN HYMN, starring Shirley Henderson and Ian Hart. Chordia left the company in late 2014 to set up ChorMedia.

Before co-founding Eclipse, Chordia was an Associate Producer at Marion Pilowsky and Colin Leventhal’s Priority Pictures. At Priority, Chordia was responsible for reviewing and creating all production materials for Priority’s slate including budget, schedules and financing and recoupment plans. He was also heavily involved in developing the slate and for reading and evaluating incoming script submissions. Amongst the titles Chordia helped produce were Kenneth Branagh’s SLEUTH starring Michael Caine and Jude Law, NINA’S HEAVENLY DELIGHTS starring Laura Fraser and Art Malik and THE ALL TOGETHER starring Martin Freeman and Danny Dyer.

Prior to this, Chordia was Co-Production manager for L.A. sales agent and production company, Myriad Pictures, where he worked on all Myriad’s co- productions including Marc Evans’ TRAUMA starring Colin Firth, THE RIVER KING starring Ed Burns and Jennifer Ehle, PICCADILLY JIM starring Sam Rockwell and Tom Wilkinson and Istvan Szabo’s BEING JULIA, starring an Oscar nominated Annette Bening. During this time Chordia was responsible for all DCMS submissions and in ensuring co-productions met their minimum spend criteria.

Chordia has also worked for United International Pictures, (the former distribution joint venture between Universal, Paramount and MGM) in the marketing and promotions department. Here he was involved in all the company’s UK marketing campaigns including films such as GLADIATOR, M:I-2, BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, BILLY ELLIOT and AMERICAN BEAUTY.
