About
I am a First Class Honours Film and Television Production graduate with a keen eye for detail and a passion for being creative. Currently based in Yorkshire, with various other bases available, I am a freelance Props / Art Department Assistant looking to advance my on set experience. I have recently been accepted onto Creative Skillset's High End Television Trainee Scheme as an Art Department/ Props Trainee and will be available to employ via skillset as of July 2017. I also have a full, clean UK Driving licence, my own car with class 1 business insurance and experience driving Luton Vans.
Whilst studying my degree I found myself becoming increasingly interested in the work of the art department and the ways in which the finest of details are used in order to create a back story for the characters and settings. Due to this, I focused my studies primarily on the work of the art department and this is an area I would love to gain further on set experience in and, moreover, establish a career in. I have experience in prop and costume buying and making, as I took on Art department roles in all of my student productions.
Since leaving university, I have drastically developed my on set abilities. I have been trained and am now currently employed by ITV, as a freelance member of Emmerdale's props team, where I have gained a wealth of experience and skills that I believe would aid my abilities on any set. During this employment I have gained experience in set dressing, backing up the Standby Props and organising the storage of the shows props. I have also recently worked on ITV's, soon to be released situation comedy, Bad Move, as Art Department Assistant, whereby I feel I gained a greater understanding of how jobs can differentiate. Whilst working on this production, I assisted in set dressing and also supported the standby team on set. Therefore, I feel readily equipt to sucessfully take on any Props/ Art Department Assistant job roles.
