About
I am a passionate and dedicated independent producer, director and freelance lecturer, with over twenty years experience in the theatre industry. I recently completed training in Digital Production Management with Sharp Futures in Manchester, in order to develop my skills and gain freelance employment in TV development and production. I also wrote my first TV Drama, reaching the top 14% of submissions to the Red Planet Prize for ITV.
A trained actor, I have performed professionally in many theatre productions, commercials, television dramas and soaps, including The Cops, Blue Murder, Spooks, Coronation Street and Emmerdale. As a theatre maker, I often work with writing and devising processes to develop scripts, creating collaboratively with a wide range of artists and creatives to produce unique, compelling and highly acclaimed original plays and performances. A regular recipient of project funding from Arts Council England, I have developed new work in association with Manchester venues that include The Royal Exchange, The Lowry, Contact and HOME, touring regionally and nationally to Harrogate Theatre, Theatre in the Mill Bradford, Nottingham Playhouse, The Albany, Camden People’s Theatre and York Theatre Royal, amongst many others.
I have taught and directed at Universities and colleges for over fifteen years, including The University of Salford and UCLAN and I was a script reader for the Bruntwood Prize at The Royal Exchange.
