Short of the Month Winner

Andy Hui is an award winning London based film-maker and producer. Having graduated from the London Film Academy (where Andy wrote the award winning short “the pistachio nut” which was the opening launch film on Sky’s propeller channel.), Andy then won the Smirnoff reel talent award for producing the short film “take me back” which was subsequently shown on channel 4 and various film festivals around the world.
From there he began directing music videos with fellow LFA graduate Philip Clyde-Smith and Jonty Kenton as “3 pronged attack” making music videos for various artists including: Amy Macdonald, Dog Is Dead, The Noisettes, The Cribs, The Joy Formidable as well as viral videos for the likes of Calvin Harris and Justin Bieber.
Recently Andy has been producing more narrative work making short story driven fashion films for Prangsta ( which was nominated for 4 and won 2 awards at the bokeh south african film festival 2014) and collaborating with award winning director Gabriel Bisset-Smith for the short film “toilets” which was specially commission by Dazed Digital for its visionary strand which has gone on to win various short film awards and accolades.
Andy has just finishing shooting an experimental online BBC drama called last hours of Laura K which was BAFTA nominated and his comedy short film "RinGtone" was long-listed for BAFTA as well as being in official selection at over 10 festivals. Currently he is in the process of making another short film Lingua Franca as well as writing various new projects.
Andy hopes to explore and collaborate on his passion for more narrative story driven films in the future.
