About

Stage, screen and immersive director. 2021 Transform Clore Fellow.

Currently in pre-production for a short film and seeking trainee director opportunities in HETV, building on my 9-year career in theatre.

I am interested in new work that asks urgent questions about our contemporary world, and that pushes at the boundaries of what is possible onscreen and onstage in order to challenge, inspire and provoke viewers in new and meaningful ways.

Between 2017 and 2019 I undertook an Arts Council England-funded residency with Katie Mitchell, observing her creative practice on her trademark multi-camera live video shows in Germany; I also directed the children in Christopher McGill's short film THE SNATCHER, maintained the UK tour of Stephen Daldry's iconic AN INSPECTOR CALLS, and received Arts Council England funding to R&D a new multimedia production.

Please visit my website at https://www.robynwinfieldsmith.com for more information, including production photography and reviews, about my previous work.
