About
Abbie Allen is a writer of Crime, Thriller, Sci-Fi, Supernatural and Fantasy. She uses her experiences of being autistic to explore themes of identity, belonging, acceptance and diversity not being a limitation. She writes both scripts and novels.
Abbie is also a Script Reader and Sensitivity Reader for autism as The Autism Reader, helping her fellow writers and creatives to create authentic autistic characters.
She studied BA Scriptwriting at the University of South Wales (USW) in Cardiff, graduating in 2017. Whilst at USW some of the modules she studied were in Script Editing, Script Reading and how to format TV, Film, Radio and Theatre scripts. She participated in the Breaking Into Script Reading course run by Lucy V Hay in partnership with the London Screenwriters' Festival in 2024.

I read manuscripts and give reports on them. I also read manuscripts with autistic characters and give a report to make the characters as authentic as possible. I also proofread manuscripts so they are the best version for submissions. As an Autistic woman myself, I use my lived experience to advise fellow writers and creatives.
