About
Laura McBride is the founder of Lothian Films, an Edinburgh-based production company which champions diverse voices and women writers & directors. Projects include; BFI Network short films SCUZZ (Alia Ghafar), BAFTA Scotland nominated Groom (Leyla Coll-O’Reilly) and The Singer (Cora Bissett & Jamie Rea) which is nominated for the Short Film Award at BFI London Film Festival.
Lothian Films has a diverse slate of feature films including; Gift from God (Catriona MacInnes) and Pricker (Cora Bissett), of which two are in funded co-development with Compact Pictures - The Pharmacist (Rachelle Atalla) and Lovesong to Lavender Menace (James Ley & Savvas Stavrou).
Laura was Associate Producer on feature film Falling Into Place (Aylin Tezel) – a co-production between Compact Pictures and Weydemann Bros of Germany which will premiere at Tallinn PÖFF Black Nights. She is currently in prep as Associate Producer on Tornado (John Maclean - Slow West) working under Leonora Darby of Tea Shop Productions (Ruth Paxton - A Banquet).
