About
Started out when my first play became my first writing for film, and secured me a meeting with Working Title's Tim Bevan, who produced My Beautiful Laundrette and Four Weddings And A Funeral among many others. That led to adventures with production companies and filmmakers doing commissions for projects about Russian inventor/musician Lev Theremin, German artist Johannes Koelz, and others, as well as a short film that toured internationally thanks to the British Council. I also scripted episodes of Doctors for the BBC.
I'm immensely proud of White Lily, a short film I scripted, crowdfunded, and exec produced. It premiered at Mayhem Festival at Broadway Cinema in Nottingham, Oct 2016, and won 5 awards at Focus International Film Festival including Best Film. You can see it on Amazon Prime, or - through Dust - YouTube.
My range is broad. White Lily is science fiction, and director Tristan and I have other genre projects planned. My screenplay Trouble is a social drama that's attracted interest from several directors with previous features. I've co-created a couple of animation concepts for young audience that are attracting industry attention
I've also written for theatre and games, and run workshops on scriptwriting specifically, and aspects of creativity and communication more generally. I started out as a copywriter, was headhunted to join the team at a leading London ad agency, and was also a support worker in a hostel for homeless people with mental health problems for four years.
