Costume Trainee

  • Location: Striling
  • Career stage: Experienced
  • Freelancer: Available

I want to broaden my knowledge of the costume process within the context of television drama. Skills in which I aspire to learn include: the ability to take care of costumes on set, costume sourcing, fitting, maintenance and continuity.

I have worked as a trainee for the Scottish BBC drama River City for the past 4 months and have gained an insight to the industry. With a hands-on approach to work, I take on every opportunity with enthusiasm and professionalism. I am a proactive, organised and forward-thinking person. I have a wealth of experience in theatre, both on and off stage, having spent 15 years in an amateur dramatics society.

Being involved in amateur dramatics will always be a great hobby of mine – engaging in all elements of theatre production has given me confidence in my abilities and I have learned a lot about the hard work it takes to put on a show. I thoroughly enjoy making my own clothes and always have a sewing project on the go. I am a very sociable person who is inspired by travelling and meeting new people.

I have also completed a Higher National Diploma in Musical Theatre and a Higher National Certificate in Applied Arts.

ScreenSkills tests passed.
