Screenwriter / Producer / Director

  • Location: Bristol
  • Career stage: Early
  • Freelancer: Available

I'm one part of a Bristol based filmmaking duo, PARALLEL MADNESS, with Varun Raman.

2017 saw our first film on the festival circuit, TRANSMISSION, shot on 35mm, selected for the Oscar-qualifying Rhode Island Film Festival, as well as top genre festivals including Fantasia, Brussels IFF and L'Étrange, and tastemakers including DC Shorts, Kerry, Chattanooga, the official Twin Peaks UK Festival, Oxford FF, River Bend, and many more. The film has got into over 85 festivals worldwide and won 12 awards along the way.

The film walks the line of narrative drama, genre and experimental and is most simply described as a dystopian fever dream. The tagline being:

"Welcome To Britannia. Together We Stand Alone."

This run included Varun winning The Film Empire's Diversity Mentorship Contest, which has facilitated access to high caliber producers in the US:

TRANSMISSION's website contains the trailer, behind the scenes videos, production photos from every phase, storyboards, the directors' statement, press and other related by-products from making the film:

After the success of the film, Varun and I are now focused on long-form narrative, live-action fiction. This year:

- We now have a written Sci-Fi TV pilot and series bible in the hands of Berlinale Crystal Bear-winning Blue Shadows Films, who are currently seeking a US based partner for further development.

- A finished feature-length British-set comedy for ourselves to direct, QUEEN + CoUNTRY.

- And a New York set coming of age comedy, Hey Hudson, which reached the quarter finals of Scriptapoolza 2018 and the finals of The Film Empire Diversity Screenwriting Contest. We are currently looking for an established female director.
