Edward Buxton is a British Writer, Playwright & Director based in the UK. After graduating in 2015, Edward has worked in TV for the BBC & Channel 4 and also on BAFTA nominated Independent Films as both a production runner and as an AD too. Edward is also an alumni of TV Talent Scheme: The Network at the Edinburgh International Television Festival and in 2019, Edward wrote his first full length play: Boy In Red for theatre company, Eastern Angles. Edward later received his first TV writing commission for the BBC with short film: Finger Prick.

Volunteered as a Media Consultant for Oakham Castle's Heritage team for 12 months from March 2018 to March 2019, helping advertise events on social media and raising the Castle's profile with the general public across the counties.

Worked as a Production Runner for an episode of Channel 4's Location, Location, Location. Stepped into cover for one of the AD's whilst they were off sick during filming and transported the assistant producer and contributors to and from locations.

Worked as a 3rd AD & Production Runner on BAFTA nominated and Oscar qualifying short film; 'Wren Boys' for London based production company Try Hard Productions Ltd. Clocked child legal hours, transported cast to and from set and stepped in to cover for an extra during filming.

Worked as a Production Runner on Series 6 of CBBC's Marrying Mum & Dad. Script read and made notes for each production team, checking scripts for any errors ahead of filming with crew, child contributors and their families. Researched and fact checked historical topics, using database ELVIS.

Worked as a Runner for BAFTA Guru Live in 2016, setting up rooms for live Q&A sessions and passing the microphone to audience members during panel sessions.

Correspondence Assistant
As part of CBBC's Blue Peter badge team I opened letters from children aged 6+ and replied, championing the wonderful makes or creations they sent us. Attended several script read throughs and pitching sessions ahead of the live shows. Acted as studio runner on two live shows, displaying viewers post in the studio.

Work Experience
Worked closely with Sky’s Drama & Entertainment departments for a week’s Work Experience placement. Read Dan Sefton’s script for original Sky drama; 'Delicious' starring Dawn French & Emilia Fox ahead of the first production meeting with Dan Sefton himself and the production team working on the drama. Drafted email responses to submitted drama Treatments for Sky, reading each script and making notes.

Worked as a Runner on short film: 'Candy Floss' starring Barry Keoghan with London based production company HAUS Pictures. Looked after equipment, transported food to and from set, kept the green room clean and tidy and worked closely alongside cast & crew.

Delegate - The Network
One of 50 delegates for Edinburgh's International Television Festival & The Guardian TV talent based scheme The Network. Worked closely alongside the Sky News team to deliver a Sky News package for The Network live show in 2015.
