About
Kim is a Barbadian British freelance writer for film, television and stage. She writes contemporary character driven stories with a thrilling universal appeal. Her diverse characters range in age from child to adult spanning genres like coming-of-any age adventure, bold drama, twisty crime thriller, science fiction horror and comedy.
Kim's drama play Somebody Chile was shortlisted and received a positive script report with BBC Writers Open Call 2024. Her sci-fi horror feature treatment was Top 5 Finalist with Shore Scripts Script Development Fund 2023. Her crime thriller TV pilot The Watcher was one of six winners of the Bisha K. Ali's Netflix and Sky Screenwriters' Fellowship 2021 and finalist for the BBC Studios ScriptWorks and Thousand Films Scriptwriting competition 2021.
Her latest proof-of-concept short film The Draft won two Best SciFi Short film awards and was selected for Academy/BAFTA Flicker's genre sidebar VORTEX SciFi Film Festival 2023. The Draft was selected by Sky & Gunpowder sci-fi streamer DUST and is currently free to view on DUST Youtube channel.
Kim is currently working on a television pilot The Promise which brings her homes Barbados and London together in a twisty thriller and, her seventh short film Reset.
