About

Tommaso Pitta is an Italian writer and director based in London. He graduated with 1st Class Honours degree in Modern Literature from the University of Milan and in from the National Film and Television School.

He started his career in theatre, writing and directing award-winning plays for some of most prestigious Italian theatres, such as Teatro Stabile di Napoli, Teatro Stabile delle Marche and Teatro Elfo Puccini of Milan.

​His short films have played at more than 100 international film festivals and won many prestigious awards, including the Royal Television Society Award for Best Postgraduate Drama, the Premier Award at the British Universities Film & Video Council Awards, the Audience Award at Aspen Shortsfest, Best Comedy at Aesthetica Short Film Festival, the Special Award of the Jury at Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival and Best Director at Rhode Island International Film Festival

Tommaso is an Alumnus of the Berlinale Talents Campus. In the UK he is represented as a writer-director by Matthew Bates at Sayle Screen.
