About
I am a London based playwright and performer. A graduate of both the Belgrade Theatre’s Critical Mass and the Royal Court Theatre local invitation playwriting schemes and 2014 alumni for the Orange Tree Theatre invitation playwright initiative. 2017 BBC Hot Talent List and BBC Drama Room and BBC/Talawa London Voices 2016. Shortlisted Old Vic 12 2016 and longlisted 2017 & 2018. Plus, runner up for the 2017 Mercury Playwriting Award for my play SHADOW KINGDOMS, with this same play going on secure me a 2019 Channel Four Playwright Bursary award, after it was staged at Theatre503 last June 2018. I’m currently on attachment with Theatre503 as their playwright in resident.
A range of the UK’s leading new writing venues has staged my work. Significantly, my one-woman show LARP, which I also performed, received five-star reviews and toured a selection of local and regional venues, as well as marking my Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut last year at ZOO venues. Last year also saw me shortlisted for BBC Studios 2019 Writers academy and successfully joined the BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew. I’m currently under commission with the Audible Emerging Playwrights Fund, as well as developing SHADOW KINGDOMS into my first feature film and developing my short film BLACKOUT. In July 2020 I will be joining Coronation Street for three months to take part in their Original Voices Initiative.
