Locksmith is an independent producer of high-quality animated features and series that entertain global audiences. From comedies, to musicals, to epic sci-fi, we tell contemporary stories that make people laugh, think, and feel.
Based in London and Los Angeles, we bring together a team of accomplished industry leaders and world-class creative talent in a filmmaker-led studio.
Our debut feature Ron’s Gone Wrong is currently streaming on Disney+. Our second film, That Christmas, based on series of children’s books by writer/director Richard Curtis is streaming on Netflix. We are currently in production of our third feature Bad Fairies.
Key purpose of the job:
General assisting is a great way to get your foot in the door at Locksmith Animation. Supporting the receptionist and head of culture with the smooth running of the studio. Assisting the production and development teams with all live projects. Help all employees with queries and helping to resolve any problems. Working effectively in a team and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely fashion with a can-do attitude.
Needs to do:
Provide support to producers, managers and co-ordinators. Assisting all key talent/personnel with any needs to enable them to work effectively, including:
- providing refreshments for meetings, booking meeting rooms, cars, and couriers
- assisting with document presentation, pitch presentations and printing scripts
- dispatching and collecting items on request, both in-house and out of house
- reconciling petty cash. Managing stocks and supplies, ensuring refreshments, kitchen, stationery, general office equipment, and toilets, are all well stocked
- keeping the studio, reception, rest areas, and all offices, clean, tidy, and well presented
- opening and closing the studio, a responsible key holder. Covering reception when needed
- helping with company social events and crew cohesion by assisting the head of culture in all crew cohesion initiatives including but not limited to, organising biweekly afternoon teas and drinks
Needs to know:
Have good customer service skills and a professional and friendly manner. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and email an advantage. Interest in filmmaking and animation is essential.
Needs to be:
You are the face of the company, so you need to be smart and friendly! And even dog friendly too!
Enthusiastic. Able to prioritise workflow, with attention to detail, good at following instructions.
Pro-active and flexible. Confident at using your own initiative, an organised problem solver. Enjoy helping people. Hard worker and impeccable timekeeper.

Job remuneration and hours: 40 hours a week. General hours: 08:00-17:00 or 10:00-19:00, alternate weeks and with the possibility of shift work during screening periods. Salary is £28,808, London Living Wage £13.85 per hour.
