Oscar nominations for four Skills Fund contributors

Four productions that contributed to the Film Skills Fund are in the running for honours at the 92nd annual Academy Awards.

With 10 nominations, 1917 is a leading contender at the 2020 edition of the Oscars. It is in the running for the best picture, directing, writing and cinematography awards and will compete against Judy and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil for an Oscar in the make-up and hairstyling category. It will also go head to head with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in the music (original score), sound editing and visual effects categories.

Winners will be announced on 10 February in Los Angeles.

Congratulations and a big thank you to all four productions that paid into the Film Skills Fund, which supports training in the industry:

  • 1917 (best picture, cinematography, directing, make-up and hairstyling, music (original score), production design, visual effects, writing (original screenplay), sound editing, sound mixing)
  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (music (original score), sound editing, visual effects)
  • Judy (best actress, make-up and hairstyling)
  • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (make-up and hairstyling)
