Anna Thomson: Series Producer Programme

Anna Thomson had been a TV director for ten years before she became a series producer (SP). She was able to make the step up, thanks to the ScreenSkills Series Producer Programme.

She says the programme gave her access to commissioners and a new network of SPs. She appreciated the training on things that you don't learn on the job, such as unconscious bias. She has become more confident, developed and pitched ideas and got work out of it, as well as learnt how to be a good manager.

About the Series Producer Programme

The year-long Series Producer Programme is commissioned by the ScreenSkills TV Skills Fund with contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5. It's designed to give its delegates the knowledge, skills and network to make the move from producer to series producer with confidence and to develop the next generation of showrunners who will become the cornerstones of UK television.
