Although the majority of production happens in London and the South East, there are thriving production bases across the UK.

There are many training providers, screen agencies and other industry organisations based around the UK supporting training and skills development in the Nations and regions. For example, the BFI National Lottery Skills Clusters who coordinate skills and training in their area. Their goal is to identify skills gaps and develop clearer pathways to employment for anyone in their area.

There are also local film offices in all the Nations and regions. The primary function of the film office is to promote filming in the local area and provide a single point of contact for productions.

Some film offices are just that, and can be just a film officer for the city or county who works for the local council. However, others provide training, host events and set up networking opportunities and local crew databases.

Below are some of the local and regional organisations in the UK which represent the screen industries.
