Many of these programmes support individuals who, after classroom training, are looking for placements which will positively impact on these shortage roles in the future by growing capacity and empowering trained and skilled crew.
Placement based funds provide additional funds that you can claim from the High-end TV Skills Fund to upskill crew in shortage areas on top of your 60% take out from your contribution and can cover both shadowing and salary costs.

- Developing effective client relationships and negotiating skills in Post and VFX: training and mentoring n key ideas, tips, resources and, above all, increased confidence in the way you develop effective relationships and handle challenging situations and negotiations – applications closed for 23/24.
- Music Editor training: intensive two day course covering the basics of music editing.
- ACES course for a VFX Pipeline: face-to-face training for cinematographers, DITs, post-production professionals and supervisors across the UK who are looking to work with ACES guidelines and specifications within VFX projects and workflows.

- Script supervisor placements: two production placements, one through the medium of English and one through the medium of Welsh, to provide ongoing progression for two participants of the Sgil Cymru script supervisor course.
