Workshop: budgeting for series producers with Maddy Allen

This week-long workshop is aimed at series producers who are looking to get a better understanding of how budgets are created and managed. 

It is designed to give a fuller understanding of the budget, along with its constraints and opportunities, whilst also shining a light on the pressure upon production companies and producers in the face of ever diminishing broadcaster funding. 

By the end of the course, the aim is for you to feel confident in working with your team to manage the budget to maximise production values whilst meeting production company financial targets. 

 As there are only a limited number of places, tickets will be allocated via application. Please be sure you can commit to attending the full programme before you apply:

Monday 7th  - 9am - 10am
Tuesday 8th - 9am - 10am
Wednesday 9th - 9am - 10am
Thursday 10th- 9am - 10am
Friday 11th - 9am - 10am

Applications will close at noon on Sunday 6th September with notifications to successful applicants being made before the weekend.

Maddy Allen is a television executive who has worked in factual television for over twenty years as a production manager, line producer, production executive and head of production. She has worked on several high profile and award-winning projects, including River Cottage, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out and the Oscar-nominated Exit Through The Gift Shop. She is currently working as a production executive at October Films and executive producer for Screen South on the BBC New Creatives Project. 
 
This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.   
 
It is part of a ScreenSkills programme managed by the Indie Training Fund to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.
