Over the next few months ScreenSkills are running a season of webinars and in-person open days to introduce screen industry professionals to the creative opportunities of Virtual Production. To kick off this season the world leading film and high-end television specialists, ARRI, are offering producers, designers, art directors, line producers, production managers and 1st ADs the chance to visit their state-of -the-art Mixed Reality Production stage to discover how VP works. 

It will be an opportunity to see first-hand a studio in action and ask questions of technology experts.

This event is part of ScreenSkills Making Virtual Production Real season.

Who it's for

To book you must have at least 2 years’ experience as a producer, designer, art director, line producer, production manager and 1st AD with professional credits.

Numbers of attendees will be limited and the content of each session has been specifically designed to focus on the roles listed, so please do not try to book if your experience does not match this criteria.

There will be more Virtual Production open days announced in due course, for a variety of different departments, skills and experience levels.

What it covers

This in-person event will be held at ARRI Studios in London a short walk from Uxbridge Underground Station. There will be four, ninety-minute sessions all with the same content, tailored to those working as producers, designers, art directors, line producers, production managers and 1st ADs.   

Each session will include an introduction the VP studio, fully-equipped with an LED volume, cameras, lighting and high-end graphic computers. There will be practical demonstrations of a number of different set-ups, both interior and exterior, followed by an opportunity to ask questions. These sessions are designed as an introduction to Virtual Production and the creative possibilities it offers.

Booking deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 3 November 2021.

These in-person events will take place under Covid-safe protocols. Please read the following Covid safety guidelines if you are to attend the event.

  • Please continue to wear face masks in public areas.
  • Maintain social distancing where possible.
  • Allow for temperature checks to be done on arrival.
  • Please bring your vaccine passports to be shown on arrival or a proof of a negative lateral flow test within the last 24 hours.
  • Hand sanitizer is provided and available within all public areas of the building.

There are several disabled parking bays on site as well as charging points for electric cars.
