The making of... is a strand of masterclasses that goes behind the scenes of some of Britain’s most popular and critically acclaimed tv series. Key production personnel will discuss the mechanics of making the series plus some of the challenges they had to face along the way. Time will be allowed for audience questions, so you will get to ask the makers of some of your favourite programmes exactly how they did it.

This session looks at the making of Channel 4’s Grierson Award Winning The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds with Executive Producer, Teresa Watkins

Speaker
Teresa Watkins is a freelance executive producer with experience making factual and documentary series for all the major UK broadcasters. For 9 years she ran the development team at RDF under Stephen Lambert that pioneered the constructed documentary and created some of the best-loved shows of the past two decades, from Wife Swap to Faking It to Secret Millionaire.  Recent credits include Planet Child (ITV) and MAKE! Craft Britain (BBC Four). She is currently executive producing multiple projects at Spun Gold.

This event is supported by the ScreenSkills Television Skills Fund which invests in training for the freelance television workforce thanks to contributions from the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

It is part of a ScreenSkills programme managed by the Indie Training Fund to support freelancers to upskill and stay connected, helping keep the industry resilient in these difficult times.

This session will take place online via Zoom. Click ‘get ticket’ to reserve your place: you must login or register before you are able to get a ticket for this event. A booking confirmation with a joining link to the session will be sent to you via email.
