You’ve found a true story that you know will make a great feature film or TV series. Now you’re researching, wrangling facts into drama, and it’s not quite as easy as you thought. This in-person workshop will help you navigate the pitfalls of the ever-popular based-on-a-true-story and transform your project into a strong screenplay.

We will explore different approaches to your material and look at some of the technical, legal and ethical challenges of bringing true stories to the screen. You will do exercises using material provided by tutor, have the opportunity to workshop your own projects and to distil them into a short synopsis or verbal pitch.
