Creative Access have partnered with ScreenSkills to offer 50 individuals at entry-level or in their early career the opportunity to be matched with an experienced professional for a minimum of 6 months.

The programme is designed to give budding talent from under-represented communities the opportunity to meet and learn from experienced professionals in the screen industry via an exclusive mentoring programme, Starting out in the Screen Industry.

The mentorship aims to reach creatives in under-represented communities who want to explore, or begin, their journey towards their first or next opportunity in Film and TV drama; Craft and technical; Editorial and production.

Where possible, successful candidates will be matched with someone working in the area in which they aspire to or currently work in. This programme aims to break down barriers and myths, and showcase the rich mix of roles and opportunities on offer. It is about giving mentees the chance to gain insights and expertise, develop skills and confidence, and build new connections and networks. And it is about giving mentors the opportunity to learn from the fresh perspectives of the mentees.

Mentees can be in their final year of University, recently graduated or with equivalent level of experience. Importantly, you’ve identified the screen industries and affiliated job roles or departments as a potential career pathway and you are looking to build your professional experience.

The mentoring partnerships will run from September for six months, starting with a virtual Meet & Greet session. You’ll have the opportunity to meet monthly with your mentor for approximately an hour each time.
