Ever been asked to scope out or recce a potentially hazardous outdoor location for a shoot, or film in one as part of a crew?

We have developed a suite of courses to teach a wide range of production crew to work safely in remote or challenging terrains and environments. Safe Working in Water is a unique two-day classroom and by/in water combination course based at our site on the Shropshire/Worcestershire border and local rivers (closed courses can be quoted for suitable offsite locations or on recce/shoot locations). Candidates will gain a three-year internationally recognised Rescue 3 qualification and the confidence and skills to assess locations and conditions to ensure safe working practices are in place.

Whilst not negating the need for specialist on location safety support and advice (which we also offer), health and safety and insurance company requirements are increasing around filming projects and a more qualified team is a definite advantage for individuals, production companies and their clients.

"Working in TV and having to risk assess scenes filmed in water, this course has given me so much confidence in assessing  and implementing safety measures needed as well as when to employ specialist safety companies. I now understand how the dangers could escalate in certain situations. I'd really recommend this course." Vicky Hoy, producer - Clarkson's Farm

The syllabus illustrates the realities of working in and around water with onsite cover, the capabilities of these teams and the equipment they use. You will also learn practical skills for working safely in still, moving and coastal water environments, plus basic self and colleague rescue. Other topics covered include risk assessments, hydrology/water hazards, entrapments, tethered shallow water techniques, communications, throwbags. For the full syllabus see Rescue 3's site https://www.rescue3europe.com/courses/safe-working-in-water-for-production-crew-swiwpc/

Devised by us with Rescue 3's over 30 years as an accrediting body overseeing safety training for rescue/emergency and inustrial personnel, these Production crew safety courses are exclusively delivered by Anthony Eddies-Davies who has over 30 years training experience plus real hands on experience providing logistical and safety support for TV and film productions around the world.

Candiditates must be able to swim.
