Are you a scripted producer with experience in short films, micro-budget features, TV drama or commercials - and ready to make the move into industry-financed scripted feature films? This intensive two-day course is designed to help you take that next step.

About this course 

The First-Time Feature Film Producers Training (Scripted) course equips you with the practical knowledge and insight needed to produce narrative feature films at an industry-financed level.  Delivered as a partnership between Mission Accomplished and The Fold

This course is part-funded by the ScreenSkills Film Skills Fund with contributions from UK film productions.

Who it's for

  • Producers with credited experience in completed narrative shorts
  • Producer with credited experience in micro-budget scripted features
  • Producers working in the commercials, branded content and/or
  • Music Video space (with evidence of narrative shorts work),
  • And/or those who work in senior production roles (e.g. Line Producers, Production Managers, 1st ADs) in scripted TV drama who are looking to transition into producing industry-financed narrative feature films. 

We also welcome applications from producers returning to the industry following a career break, with equivalent experience.

Priority will be given to producers based in the Nations and Regions outside of London and the M25. 

What it covers

This training covers everything from packaging and finance to sales strategy and positioning - giving you the tools and confidence to move your project forward. During this training you will learn: 

  • How to package yourself, your creative team and your project effectively for industry partners
  • The producer's role in achieving a greenlight
  • To navigate film finance — including types of funding, financial terminology and the cost of money
  • How to identify and access regional funding opportunities
  • How to build a finance plan and understand recoupment structures
  • To Interpret sales estimates and understand the role of a sales agent
  • To confidently position your project to potential partners and financiers
