Become a TV Talent North mentee

The TVTN Facebook group has been set up for the unscripted freelance TV community in the North of England and it is administered and supported by representatives from the major broadcasters and independent production companies.

For the first time, all available jobs in Yorkshire and the North West will be posted in the Facebook group and between June and September 2020, three hundred jobs were posted. The group is also a place where we will share ideas, news, and insight from the industry alongside creative content.  

TVTN recognises the challenges we have all faced during the Covid epidemic and we are now launching our very own Mentoring programme called Northern Brights.  

The programme is a career and personal development opportunity for 10 people who are in a mid-level role, such as researchers, AP’s and Coordinators. We’re especially interested in hearing from people who have been in the same role for at least 3 years or who have considered leaving TV in the last year. 

Mentees will be supported and guided by Talent Execs, Managing Directors and Heads of Production from TV Talent North, over a 3-month period.  As there are only 10 available mentees matches on this pilot, we are likely to be over-subscribed and not everyone who applies will be matched. We do aim to expand the programme in the future, after the initial pilot.

We are an inclusive organisation and it is important that all production talent get the opportunity to access mentoring. Our aim is to ensure we diversify the TV and Broadcast workforce in many ways within the North. With this in mind we'd love to hear from those who are underrepresented in our industry.
