Talking Point presents this course as part of the Industry Sessions, Senior Film Art Department Roles. It will examine how the art and VFX departments collaborate effectively on large scale feature films.

This session is aimed at anyone currently working in the art or VFX departments on feature and drama productions looking to understand more in this area.
It will be of particular interest to those considering moving into the VFX art director role.
As more productions are using VFX tools, art departments need to be across emerging technologies and understand how they can be used alongside traditional design methods.
What it covers
The course will cover the following:
- the role of the VFX art director;
- how to succeed and be effective in this role;
- ensuring efficient communication between the two departments;
- choices of software and the impact they have;
- set extensions;
- working with virtual production.
