The Unscripted TV Skills Fund (USF) has unveiled its delivery plan for the upcoming 2023/24 year. It marks the third year of activity since the launch of the Fund in 2021 which takes a collaborative, industry-led approach to transform investment in the workforce for unscripted television.

For 23/24 the USF will support a minimum of 65% of beneficiaries based outside of London.

Among the returning programmes are a shooting PD programme, a researcher to shooting AP programme and an edit assistant programme. New programmes for 2022/23 include programmes for casting researchers, production assistants and a step-up to development producer programme.

Short course training will continue to be offered to allow freelancers and production staff to embed training into their working lives and aims to reach 2,600 beneficiaries across the year.

Tenders will be open to training providers to lead on delivery of the range of new and returning programmes on the ScreenSkills website, with applications for those interested in taking part opening later in the year. See the full list on our website.

In addition, the USF will also support training costs as part of the wider ScreenSkills bursary programme, and the returning Contestable Fund will support other training as a minority funder, up to 10% of a project’s costs to a maximum investment of £10,000.
