Elevate Studios is our exciting new upcoming creative hub - empowering underrepresented voices through storytelling, media and digital innovation. We provide a state-of-the-art facility where individuals, communities and organisations can come together to create, learn and grow. As part of our mission, we’re looking for a passionate and talented multi-skilled studio operator to join our team and help us bring this vision to life.

The role

We’re looking for a dynamic and multi-talented studio operator to play a key role in setting up and running Elevate Studios. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the space, providing hands-on support and training to staff, volunteers and clients. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of a vibrant creative community and make a tangible impact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and configuration of studio equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio systems and editing software.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff, volunteers and clients on the use of studio equipment and facilities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the studio, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally and safely.
  • Support the delivery of workshops and training programmes, helping participants to build technical skills and confidence.
  • Operate cameras, vision mixers and sound recording equipment, and perform editing to a high standard as and when required.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine studio workflows and procedures.
  • Assist in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all studio users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain studio logs and records, including equipment usage and maintenance schedules.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a passion for creativity and technology who thrives in a collaborative and community-focused environment. You’ll bring technical expertise, a can-do attitude and a commitment to helping others succeed.

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong knowledge of studio equipment (e.g. cameras, lighting, microphones and mixing consoles) and digital production tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, sound editing software, generative AI)
  • At least two years of experience in a studio operations or technical support role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide clear and engaging training to individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
  • A commitment to inclusivity and creating a welcoming environment for all users.

Desirable skills

  • Experience working with community projects or in a similar creative environment.
  • Knowledge of live streaming platforms and video monetisation strategies.
  • Familiarity with health and safety protocols in a studio setting.

What we offer

  • The chance to work on an innovative and impactful project that supports community creativity and empowerment.
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • The chance to make a difference in the lives of individuals and the wider community.
