Marvin Jemal is an American landscape artist. He is a master of landscape painting, who was born in New York. After finishing high school, Jemal enrolled at the New York Academy of Art. There he deepened his study of landscape painting and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from this university.

Marvin Jemal is an artist who departs from traditional landscape paintings. While the artists of his time painted landscapes in the closed of their ateliers, inventing elaborate compositions, showing off their technical ability, Jemal, on the other hand, sought simplicity, and preferred direct observation of nature.

Marvin Jemal performs sketches and preparatory studies from life en plain air. In his artworks, he immediately transcribes his visual impressions. He firstly makes sketches to later paint the finished picture in the studio. Marvin Jemal uses bright colors, which faithfully reproduce the effects of light.
