    Various · Nov 2021 - Present

I currently work as a freelance journalist, writing for video game publications such as Edge Magazine, GamesRadar and Eurogamer. For the latter I write a monthly column about my creative escapades in online games, titled Emma's Adventures. Alongside this I work as a game consultant, writing mock reviews for developers to provide feedback on their unreleased games.

  2. Freelance Supporting Artist

I have worked as a supporting artist on three separate productions, including a HETV drama series, a major feature film, and the BBC's Casualty series. These experiences gave me valuable insight into the filmmaking process and on-set etiquette.

  3. Reporter

    Eurogamer · Oct 2018 - Aug 2021

Writing daily news, features, reviews and investigative pieces about video games.

  4. Reporter intern

    Eurogamer · Jul 2018 - Oct 2018

Education and training

  1. Bachelor of Arts Liberal Arts and Sciences (International Relations)

    University of Birmingham · Sep 2014 - Jul 2018

A challenging degree course that required me to hop between many different subjects, such as fantasy literature, Russian classical music, game studies and even Australian sports.

  2. Gold Medal Speaking Verse and Prose

    LAMDA · Apr 2013 - Apr 2014

A performance-based examination requiring the recital of poetry, sonnets and prose, and the sight-reading of a text. Candidates must critically analyse the literary material and demonstrate knowledge of vocal techniques.
