About
I'm Emma: a video game journalist looking to make a career change into the world of film and TV. I'm searching for entry-level production and research roles, particularly in documentary-making or scripted drama.
My background in journalism has given me an invaluable skill set that is directly transferable to film and TV. Being a journalist requires excellent research and communication skills, the ability to offer fair critique, and a huge amount of self-motivation. So if you're looking for a hard-working, organised individual with a knack for creativity and critical thinking, do get in touch!

Experience
-
Freelance Journalist and Consultant
I currently work as a freelance journalist, writing for video game publications such as Edge Magazine, GamesRadar and Eurogamer. For the latter I write a monthly column about my creative escapades in online games, titled Emma's Adventures. Earlier this year, I was honoured to serve as a jury member on the BAFTA Games panel for Best Family Game. Alongside this I work as a game consultant, writing mock reviews for developers to provide feedback on their unreleased games.
-
Freelance Supporting Artist
I have worked as a supporting artist on three separate productions, including a HETV drama series, a major feature film, and the BBC's Casualty series. These experiences gave me valuable insight into the filmmaking process and on-set etiquette.
