About
Having worked as a Tech Director and MSO at Tortoise media, I have an excellent knowledge of the latest video and audio equipment as well as a great understanding of how to create a good workflow with the kit.
Through rigging and derigging, I turned Tortoise’s newsroom into a live studio space every night for their ThinkIn’s. Changing the lighting, setting up the cameras, getting the tech desk ready as well as micing up the guests.
As well as this I often had to adapt our tech setups, going on OBs, including at Kite festival where I was a stage manager, Tortoise’s morning shows at Soho radio and bespoke setups such as COP26 and 27.
I believe this previous experience working on talk show studios will really benefit me in this role and allow me to bring that same level of consistency to my next role.
In my current role as a Client Services Supervisor at Envy Post Production I am combining these two assets. Understanding client needs and offering a first class, proactive service that leaves each person that comes into the building I run, happier than when they arrived.
I have experience in locking up buildings, fire alarm testing and fire drills, as well as working with a maintenance team to keep the building in good shape.
As well as this I have experience managing a team. I currently supervise five runners. Building their rotas, making sure that our kitchen output and cleanups are up to scratch and making sure that the team are happy.
Also, I have plenty of live events experience having stage managed at festivals and led live talk shows at Tortoise Media, as well as directing live broadcasts at Tortoise and Sky TV. At Tortoise I also made video content for their social channels.

Multi-Skilled Operator & Director
Produced podcast trailers for social media. From cinematic teasers for ‘Hoaxed’ and ‘Pig Iron’ to weekly interviews with the journalists for Tortoise’s ‘Slow News’ podcast. As well as this, I installed a video setup in the podcast studio to get full recordings of the sessions, clips of which became one of Tortoise’s most popular outputs on their social network. My main responsibility was directing live multi-camera studio shows. Operating cameras, sound desks, graphics, vision mixing and stage management. This included outside broadcasts with company partners such as The New York Times at COP26 and COP27, Kite Festival and Sheila McKechnie Foundation National Campaigner Awards 2022 I have extensive experience in producing audio and video content. Working with Tortoise's journalists to identify stories that would translate to video well, I then produced them, budgeting, scheduling and planning what equipment was needed for each shoot. I am confident with all technical operating aspects of filmmaking, including sound, camera, editing and graphics. I believe This will help me in this role as I am great at working in a team, putting my ideas forward, which was shown in both the live shows, and offline shoots that I produced. I created Tortoise’s video strategy for their social video channels such as YouTube and TikTok. Writing, producing, directing and editing videos to suit each platform. Tortoise went from having no TikTok presence to a page with eleven thousand followers, consistent engagement and a theme that matched the companies brand guidelines. For YouTube I raised ten thousand pounds in funding from the European Journalism Centre, and took part in a training scheme all about gaining followers on the platform.
