Do you want to further develop your experience as a fatual storyteller? Over three sessions, this workshop on  factual story will let you explore your ideas to see where the strengths and weaknesses lie. It will also give you some techniques you will be able to to use on any programme you work on in the future.

Who it's for

This workshop is aimed at those with a minimum of two years experience in the television industry who either working in factual or  are interested in working in factual television. You must have an idea or story to develop.

What it covers

This workshop is part of our week-long focus on all things factual and documentary television. Hazel will cover:

  • Wednesday: character and conflict
  • Thursday: big questions and structure
  • Friday: bringing it all together

Please note you must be able to attend all three days - each session will be from 4 - 5.15pm.You must have an idea to work on as part of this training course. It could be the idea you’ve always wanted to make but please make sure you know enough about it to answer some questions on it as Hazel will be putting you in small groups to work. For that reason, make sure it’s also something you have permission to talk about if required.

As there are only a limited number of places, tickets will be allocated via a ballot system to give all those interested a fair chance to secure a place. Applications will close at midnight on Monday 31st August with notifications to successful applicants being made on Tuesday 1st September.
