Ready to take your next step into senior production management position?
This nine-month hybrid training programme giving production professionals the confidence, skills, and connections to step into line producer, production executive, or head of production roles.
Through expert-led workshops, personalised coaching, and peer networking with industry experts, you’ll gain leadership capability, strategic insight, and industry visibility, all designed to help you progress and thrive in your next role.
This training programme is funded by the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV Skills Fund which invests in training for the unscripted workforce thanks to contributions from broadcasters, SVoDs and production companies.
Who it's for
We’re looking for 60 delegates across the UK.
This programme is designed for production managers, line producers, and production executives in unscripted TV who are ready to take on greater responsibility. You might be:
- A production manager aiming for your first line producer credit.
- A line producer looking to move into a production executive role.
- A production executive ready to step into head of production.
With increasing demand and competition in this sector you’ll be someone with a strong track record in production, eager to develop your leadership skills, gain the knowledge senior roles demand and expand your network.

What it covers
Over nine months, you’ll take part in:
- Eight monthly online workshops covering leadership, strategic decision-making, diversity & inclusion, sustainability, the impact of AI, and tailored sessions for each career step-up.
- Two 1:1 coaching sessions (online or in-person) to map your career goals, strengthen your professional presence, and tackle challenges with confidence.
- Monthly peer-to-peer networking with exceptional access to industry experts, including heads of production, talent recruiters, and senior leaders.
- Real-world insight from guest speakers at the top of their field, sharing practical, behind-the-scenes knowledge.
By the end of the programme, you’ll have:
- A clear roadmap for your next career step and the confidence to go to lead a senior level.
- The resilience, boundaries and communication skills needed to thrive in senior roles while maintaining a balance working life that fit with your values.
- Leave with a strong network and community of peers and senior industry allies who can open doors and champion your progression.
- A stronger professional presence in your current roles, with skills to stand our when new opportunities arise.

You must have demonstrable experience working in unscripted TV production management at production manager, line producer, or production executive level, with a clear ambition to step into a more senior role.
In the application, you will also be asked for your three most recent credits. Please provide the programme/series title and your job role.
While most questions in the application form are multiple choice or require short answers, three questions will require longer answers. For your preparation, these are:

Key dates:

- Outcome notifications: By week commencing 8 October 2025
Training:
- Monthly workshops & networking sessions: October 2025 – June 2026 (recordings available for catch-up)
- Coaching sessions: 2× 1-hour sessions during the programme, available in person or online with flexible slots including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Final in-person meet-up: June 2026, with travel and accommodation covered for those outside London.
